Venus Raj was born Maria Venus Bayonito Raj on 7 July 1988 in Doha, Qatar. Her father is Indian and her mother is a Filipina. She was brought to the Philippines by her mother when she was still a kid and raised Venus on her own.
Venus was the representative of the Philippines to the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant and placed 5th (4th Runner Up).
